Our life story is truly a story of love and of everything in God’s timing. It started back in high school. We would dance at the American Legion Hall, where we shared our first kiss. I remember dancing with her, holding her tight, and the feeling of comfort, happiness, and contentment that came over me. Then she was gone, off to school in Switzerland and I went to Texas A&M. After college, marriage and children brought many years of happiness and joy to my life with my family. Now at a different stage, we reunited with an instant connection. We looked into each other‘s eyes and fell in love with each other. I realized that, at this exact time in our lives, I had exactly what she needed, and she had exactly what I needed. Our loving commitment came early in our relationship. Our relationship has progressed as we’ve learned each other’s love languages and met welcoming friends and family. Nothing is always easy, but putting God first and knowing the other persons true heart, feelings, and our commitment to each other has helped us through any tough times that we’ve encountered. Angie brings something to me that I needed at this stage in my life. I feel loved, seen, and adored by Angie. I know I make her feel the same. I look forward to the rest of our lives together, as we continue to support and to be there for each other, and work together to accomplish our goals and dreams. We have blended together into Team Paul and Angie. We look forward to the rest of our lives together, discovering new places and making new memories.

Our story began in high school. On weekends, my friends and I would go country and western dancing. I can still vividly picture Paul standing with his friends across the room before walking over to ask me to dance. One particular Saturday night, I remember him asking me to dance to the last song of the night by Ray Price, “For the Good Times.” At the end of the dance, we looked at each other and kissed. My very first kiss. I danced around on cloud nine for days after that! The feeling of euphoria, love, and excitement was overwhelming. Shortly after, I went away to finish high school in Switzerland, and we didn’t see each other again. Life took us in different directions after high school and college. We both got married and had wonderful families of our own. Yet even as we experienced life, the most important things to both of us remained the same, our faith in Jesus Christ and our devotion to our families. Once we reconnected, our connection was immediate from the first phone call. On one of our first dates, we looked through our old AHS yearbooks, chuckling as we remembered that we each had written messages and signed our names in the other’s yearbook. It was so sweet to see the words that we shared all those years ago. Coming back home to Alvin to the the man that I had shared that first kiss with on the dance floor has been easy, natural, and part of God’s plan. It’s been amazing to be on this journey together, and to know, without a doubt, that God paved the way for us to be together now. Like a dance, we twirled away from each other and found our way back. It is so exciting to share this joy and happiness with our families and friends as we embark on this new journey.
